I’m finding that it is possible to download some great software tools to help improve my efficiency at work and at home. Some of them, but not all, are free downloads. One of the most important things to discuss right off the bat is the need for solid antivirus software for your entire computer system.
One thing to remember is that the free virus protection software programs are available only for your home computer. The experts say that the free software will defend against the worst threats, but it is necessary to also add software to cover Trojan horses and adware. Just know that the free downloads will not give you the same protection as the full packages that are sold at a modest price.
Finally, as the business world leans towards a paperless environment, there is the need to be able to consolidate and organize all types of files from hundreds of software applications. Transfering the many kinds of document, image and data files to pdf format will be a common action.
There are a few major companies with products to deal with this requirement, Adobe being the most familiar name. Adobe Acrobat is probably the best-known software package and they offer a few choices of products in that family from which you can choose. If your needs are very basic, you might be able to get away with the free Adobe Reader, which is easily downloaded.
You will find substantial time savings by being able to work with pdf files, regardless of which software you acquire. This is not likely to change in the foreseeable future.
